Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has approved the proposals for setting up of three Centres of Excellence in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Deep Learning in collaboration with C-DAC, Pune.

The centres will be established at IGIT, Sarang/ CET, Bhubaneswar, PMEC, Berhampur as per the notification of Skill Development and Technical Education Department.

"Rs 28.50 lakh will be spent towards setting each centre for installation, training, supervision, maintenance and one year remote application support," said Minister Skill Development and Technical Education, Usha Devi.

The cost of opening of one such Centre at IGIT, Sarang will be borne by the institution and BPUT will bear the cost for other two Centres.

As per plans, the Centres will be established and start functioning within a period of six months and after reviewing the performance of the three centres, plans for setting up more such Centres will be mooted.
