Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has decided to set up three new planetariums in different parts of the State to popularise science and technology among people. This was revealed by Science and Technology Minister Badri Narayan Patra at a felicitation programme organized by Odisha Bigyan Academy (OBA) here.

"The new planetariums will be setup in Baripada, Rayagada and Gopalpur. The State Council of Science and Technology department has already passed a resolution in this regard," stated Patra.

The council has also decided to open four new regional science centres at Keonjhar, Jeypore, Baripada and Gopalpur.

At present, the state has only one working planetarium — the Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar which was established in 1990.
