Bhubaneswar: Amid a spurt in cyber crime cases, Odisha Government has decided to set up three more cyber police stations in different parts of the State.

The three proposed cyber police stations will come up at Berhampur, Sambalpur and Rourkela, informed Home Department in a tweet.

According to sources, all the three new cyber police stations are expected to play a crucial role in providing immediate assistance to the victims of online fraud and other cyber crime in South-Western and Northern pockets of the State.

As there is only one cyber police station in the State in Cuttack, people from other parts of the state have been facing problems in reporting several ATM and any other online frauds.

Odisha State CID, Crime Branch on the other hand has been imparting training to ASIs, SIs and IICs as earlier police stations were not registering cyber crime cases owing to lack of expertise.
