Angul/Balasore/Bolangir: In a spate of road mishaps reported from across Odisha on Sunday, three persons were killed while four other got critically injured.

Two bike borne youths were hit by a speeding truck in Angul district on NH-55 killing the duo on the spot. The deceased were identified as residents of Khamar area in the district.

Police have reportedly seized the bodies and sent for autopsy.

In another such road mishap, one person was killed and another injured in a head-on-collision between a truck and a pickup van on NH-60 near Basta chhak in Balasore district.

The deceased, identified as Seikh Hafiz of Motinagar in Soro, was working as helper of the pickup van. The injured, driver of the pickup van, is undergoing treatment at the Balasore hospital.

Similarly, three labourers were injured after the Bolero vehicle they were traveling in turned turtle near Kaprakhol area in Bolangir district while they were on the way to Harishanker Railway station. All the injured have been admitted to Kaprakhol hospital.
