3 Injured After 108 Ambulance Rams Into Tree

Malkangiri: Three persons including an ambulance driver sustained grievous injuries when the 108 ambulance they were travelling in rammed into a tree near Bandhaguda of the district here on Saturday.

The accident occurred late on Saturday night near Bandhaguda on the Jeypore-Malkangiri main road when the ambulance crashed into a tree on the roadside after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Sources said, the ambulance was on its way to Kalimela from Jeypore.

The trio was rescued and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

While the condition of the driver is stated to be critical, the other two employees are stable.

However, there were no patients in the ambulance when the incident happened, sources added.
