Bhadrak: Three days after eight Chinese nationals working at Dhamra Port Company Limited were asked to leave the place by the state government on security grounds, the district marine police on Thursday detained three foreign nationals for using a satellite phone on their way to Dhamra port on an Australian ship.

According to sources, among the three detained foreign nationals, one belongs to Australia while the other two belong to Philippines.

The captain of the ship was contacting Malaysia and Philippines using the satellite phone, the sources added.

Marine police has also seized their visa, passport and satellite phone and is interrogating them at an unknown place, sources informed.

Notably on Monday night, eight Chinese nationals working at Dhamra Port Company Limited (DPCL) in Bhadrak district had left Odisha on Monday night on the orders of the state government for violating visa rules.

The State government had slapped ‘Leave-India’ notice on them as per the order of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
