3 dead, 19 injured in tanker-bus collision in Khurda

Khurda: At least three persons were killed and 19 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and an oil tanker on NH-57 near Sarua petrol pump here this morning.

While one died on the spot, two others succumbed to injuries at the Khurda district headquarters hospital.

The injured were rescued and rushed to the Khurda hospital by police with the help of locals.

The mishap occurred when the oil tanker going towards Bhubaneswar from Nayagarh collided head-on with the Banki-bound bus coming from opposite direction.

Deceased has not been identified till the filing of the report.
