Bargarh: In a shocking incident, four persons including three police officials of Bargarh district have allegedly looted Rs 3 lakh from a Chhattisgarh-based scrap businessman.

As per reports, vehicle of businessman Sudhir Khatri, bearing number CG 04-9554, was intercepted at Barahagoda toll gate for checking by police informer Durga Prasad and Constable Hemant Das, while he was going to Jajpur through Bargarh on April 23.  They enquired about the Rs 3.82 lakh in the vehicle that Sudhir clarified as investment money for his scrap business.

Despite of that, Sudhir and his driver was taken to a police outpost. Later Sub-Inspector Dhableswar Sahu reached there and they together tortured Sudhir both mentally and physically.

It was alleged that they snatched the money bag from Sudhir, returned only Rs 80,000 while doing a videography of the act and asked him to leave Bargarh.

After filing a complaint at Raipur police station in Chhattisgarh, Sudhir came to Bargarh and brought the matter to the notice of the district SP Asish Singh, also the Collector of Bolangir, on Friday. Under his direction, Sudhir lodged an FIR against the four cops at the Bargarh Town police station, following which a case was registered against the four.

Based on the complaint, the Bargarh police detained constable Hemant Das, homeguard Prashant Jena and police informer Durga Prasad in connection with the incident. However, Sub-Inspector Dhableswar Sahu, the prime accused in the the incident, is still at large.

Meanwhile, the SI and constable has been suspended from their jobs, while the homeguard has been dismissed.
