Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Odisha visit, 3 Congress leaders including former MLA Nihar Mahananda and over 20 activists of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were detained in Bargarh today.

Apprehending law and order problem, several Congress activists and leaders are being taken into preventive custody as a precautionary measure, police sources said.

According to reports, Chouhan is expected to reach Bargarh in helicopter from Chhattisgarh at around 11: 45 am and later will attend BJP’s Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikash Programme.

Both Congress and several farmer organisations across country are now targeting the BJP over the deaths of farmers in police firing in Mandasuar in Madhaya Pradesh.

“Congress is protesting Shivraj Chouhan’s visit as he is just coming to Bargarh to play with farmers’ emotions. Both BJP and BJD are misusing government machinery as police picked us in midnight,” said Congress leader Nihar Mahananda.

Lingaraj, convener Western Odisha Krushak Coordination Committee said, not only Bargarh, the farmers across Odisha will oppose MP CM’s visit to State.
