Puri: Three child labouers were rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) from Puri railway station while being taken to Bhubaneswar to work in a construction company.

According to sources, the rescued kids were brought from their hometown Malda of West Bengal in Howrah-Puri Dhauli express. The RPF also arrested four middle men accompanying the kids.

PK Bhoi, Puri RPF inspector, said, “Our RPF staffs rescued three children and arrested four middlemen while escorting Howrah-Puri Dhauli express.”

Debasis Rath, director of Puri child line said, “The children were roaming inside the train suspiciously. Suspecting something fishy, the RPF force rescued them and detained elder persons travelling with the kids.”

The rescued children were later handed over to Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
