Keonjhar: Over 25 people, including children, sustained multiple injuries after a bus in which they were travelling fell off Kanjipani Ghati in Keonjhar district late last night.
According to sources, the mishap took place yesterday night near Kanjipani Gati on NH-6 when the Sai Baba bus, bearing registration number OD 11A 1232, was on its way to Angul from Tata. The bus fell off the Ghati into a gorge after the driver lost control over the vehicle, sources added.
Twenty five passengers suffered injuries and were shifted to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and Telkoi Community Health Centre (CHC) here.
“I was asleep when the bus suddenly lost control near the Ghati turning and fell off. Almost all the passengers have been injured,” said a passenger Parbati Kudu.
Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot and has started investigation into the incident.
Dr Babaji Charan Nayak of Keonjhar DHH said," 12 patients have been admitted here. The condition of one is critical, while others have sustained minor injuries and are undergoing treatment at the outdoor ward."
