Rayagada: Maoists killed one of the two persons, whom they had kidnapped in Rayagada district on March 19. The deceased has been identified as Mali Pusika of Salpajla village under Muniguda police limits.

The body of Mali was recovered from an isolated place on the outskirts of the village today. Earlier, the Maoists had abducted Mali along with Mandu Pusika on March 19.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot but the exact reason behind the kidnapping and subsequent killing is still unclear.

A senior police official said they could ascertain the reasons behind the murder only after interrogating Mandu Pusika the other villager who was reportedly freed by the ultras.
