2 youths injured Paradip firing

Paradip: Tension erupted in the town after miscreants opened fire at two youths injuring them near Tarinigada on Sunday night.

The miscreants fired ay Jyotikant Parida and his aide Ashutosh Swain from a close range at 10.30 pm yesterday when they were on their way to home in a car. The injured were rushed to Biju Memorial Hospital in Paradip and were later shifted to the SCB Medical College and hospital in Cuttack. As per the latest reports, the duo has been taken to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

While Parida has sustained an injury near his neck on the left side, Swain was injured in the chest.

Though the exact motive behind the attack is not known, previous enmity is suspected to be the reason.

Parida and Swain are involved with many business and workers’ organizations.

Meanwhile, local police have raided several places and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
