Malkangiri: Two tribal families in Kuruba village under Kalimela police limits of the Naxal-hit Malkangiri district left their village on Saturday after allegedly receiving threats from Maoists.

According to sources, five days back the red rebels had threatened the family of Mandra Madhi and Banja Padiami accusing that they have been working as police informers.

Though they repeatedly tried to prove the allegations false and that they were not working as informers, the ultras were not convinced.

Apprehending further problems, the two families constituting 13 members with all their belongings and documents left the village in a bid to save themselves.

This is not the first instance when families were forced to vacate the village as prior to this two more families had vacated the village due to constant Maoist threats.
