Rourkela: Two girls from Sundergarh district were allegedly sold to a broker in Saudi Arabia for Rs 25 lakh after being blackmailed with a sex video by a middleman, who is reportedly a cousin of one of the victims.
The two women, however, managed to escape with the help of the Indian Embassy and later filed a complaint against one Biswajit Mallik at the Raghunathpalli Police Station.
As per the complaint, Biswajit called the two girls on the pretext of providing jobs abroad and kept them in a hotel. He raped his cousin, sexually assaulted the other girl in the hotel and recorded a video of the whole incident with the help of another person. The accused had even threatened to kill them if they took the matter to police, alleged the victims.
"Biswajit had also taken Rs 1 lakh from me by blackmailing me with the video. He sold me for Rs 15 lakh in Saudi Arabia," said one of the girls.

After that, the accused managed to send the two women to Saudi Arabia by blackmailing them with the video. As per the complainants, they were kept captive in a room and were subjected to sexual torture.
However, the duo managed to escape from the broker's clutch with the help of the Indian Embassy. They alleged that more than 50 women have been kept captive in the gulf country.
