2 SOG Commandos Injured In Blast During Anti-Naxal Operation

Nuapada: Two SOG commandos sustained minor injuries in an IED explosion during an anti-naxal operation at Badajhola forest under Sunabeda sanctuary in the district on Sunday.

The duo was admitted to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.

Multiple SOG teams were engaged in a fierce gun battle with Naxals in the forest. Some of the extremists also sustained critical injuries in the gunfight and managed to flee, a release issued by the district police said.

The jawans fired around 100 rounds of bullets during the encounter, the release stated.

The security forces seized Maoist dresses, haversacks, blankets, utensils, rations, medicines, Maoist literature, wire, batteries, and polythene.

Meanwhile, combing operation has been intensified in the area to neutralize the Maoists.
