Bargarh: Two Maoists, including a woman, were killed in a police encounter in Salepali forest under Paikmal block of Bargarh district late Tuesday night.
Acting on a tip off, security forces had launched a combing operation in the forest. The two rebels were gunned down in an exchange of fire between police and the ultras.
Police recovered two .303 rifles, 105 rounds of live bullets and Rs 20,000 from the deceased naxals.
Meanwhile, Northern Range IG Susanth Nath informed that the combing operation is underway. Police DG RP Sharma also tweeted about the incident on his personal twitter handle.
