2 killed in road mishap on NH-18 in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: In a tragic incident, two persons including a woman were killed and three injured when a car in which they were travelling rammed into truck from behind near Kalama Chhak on NH-18 under Baisinga police limits this morning.

The grievously injured car passengers were immediately rushed to the Baisinga hospital for treatment and later shifted to the Balasore hospital as their condition deteriorated. The incident occurred at around 8 am on Sunday.

Though details on the accident victims’ including their identities were not known till the filing of this report, the circumstantial evidence showed the passengers were travelling in an Alto car bearing JH 05E 2311 registration number. It is also suspected that the occupants of the car were members of one family.

After receiving the information about the accident, police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify  irate locals following the road mishap near Kalama Chhak.

Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the incident.
