2 killed in accident in Balugaon; locals block key road

Balugaon: Tension ran high in Balugaon area as locals blocked the Nayagarh-Khandapada road on Thursday morning protesting against the death of two persons in a road accident on Wednesday.

The two deceased have been identified as Kailash Chandra Sahoo and Sarat Nayak.

According to sources, the incident took place when a Haiwa truck coming from Khandpada in Nayagarh district hit a person at Balapalli seriously injuring him in the process.

Later, it hit an auto rickshaw and a bike and rammed into a nearby shop causing the death of Sahoo, who was standing at the shop. Nayak, who sustained critical injuries in the attack, died on the way to hospital, the sources added.

The other victims of the accidents have been admitted to Nayagarh district headquarters hospital.
