2 kg gold, Rs 10 lakh looted from businessman’s house

Bhubaneswar: In a daring robbery, unidentified miscreants looted 2 kg gold and Rs 10 lakh in cash from a businessman’s house in Tulsi Vihar area under Chandrasekharpur police limits here late on Tuesday night.

According to sources, the businessman had kept the ornaments and cash on the first floor of his house for her daughter’s marriage scheduled to be held on April 22.

It is believed that some goons had prior information about the ornaments and cash stored in the house. They burgled the house of the businessman in a pre-planned manner.

The police is investigating the matter from all angles as no grills and almirah in the house were broken during the loot, the sources added.

When contacted, the businessman refused to give any comment on the matter.
