Nuapara: Two jawans of the District Voluntary Force (DVF) were critically injured today in an 'unintended' firing during a drill in a camp situated on Nuapara Police station premises.

According to reports, both the jawans were injured after bullet was accidentally fired from one of the AK-47 firearm used by them.

The incident occurred when nearly 25 DVF jawans were rehearsing as part of a mock drill prior to a scheduled combing operation that was supposed to be carried out against the Maoists in the area tonight.

Both the jawans have been shifted to Raipur while further reports are awaited.
