2 die, 1 critical in a mudslide

Koraput: Two labourers were killed and one sustained injuries after a big chunk of mud from a mountain fell on them near Khialaguda under Borigumma block of the district on Thursday.

As per sources, the labourers were engaged in digging and loading soil from the mountain in a tractor for getting it transported to several places.

The mishap occurred when a big chunk of loose mud came crashing down on them trapping them.

Other labourers present on the spot raised an alarm and immediately informed police about the incident.

Getting information, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to pull the bodies out of the mud.

While two persons were found dead on the spot, another labourer who sustained injuries was rushed to Borigumma Medical in a critical condition.
