2 detained for attacking junior engineer on duty

Nabarangpur: Police have detained two persons in connection with the attack on a junior engineer and his colleagues of the Southco in Bikrampur village of Nabarangpur district on Thursday.

Police sources said the arrested persons are being interrogated over the incident.

"The junior engineer and other staff had gone to the village to collect dues when they were attacked by some villagers. A police complaint has been lodged and we will take action as per law," said Tarak Ahmed, IIC of Nabarangpur Town police station.

"While snapping electricity connection of a resident of Bikrampur, who had outstanding dues of Rs 29,000, the villagers thrashed me and my colleagues," said Mohan Panthoi the junior engineer of Southco.
