Deogarh: Two brothers were killed and two others injured after the bike they were travelling on skid off Kalajira old bridge near Balam village in Deogarh district today.

According to sources, the two deceased and one injured were cousins, identified as Bhaskar Lohora, Punu Lohora and Bishnu Lohora. The identity of the other injured is still uncertain.

All four of them were going on a motorcycle to a nearby village at around 4 am to arrange some materials as it was their sister’s engagement today. They had used the old bridge which was in a dilapidated condition after construction of a new road on National Highway 49. It was on the bridge that the two-wheeler went out of control and skidded off the broken bridge.

The incident came to light after one of the injured informed a nearby village about it. The locals rushed to the spot and found that Bhaskar and Punu had died on the spot, while Bishnu and the other injured were shifted to Burla Medical College and Hospital in Sambalpur.
