2 arrested in Umerkote for betting on IPL matches

Umerkote: Two persons were arrested on charges betting in IPL matches following a raid at a house on Umerkote-Raighar road on Thursday evening.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of bookie Ramiz Hingora and nabbed the bookie and his aide Srinabas Rao. Rs 18.80 lakh cash, a laptop, five mobile phones, a TV, diaries and calculators were seized from the house.

Investigation is on to unravel the involvement of others suspected to be involved in the betting racket, a police official said on condition of anonymity.
