Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today informed the State Assembly that 19 out of 30 districts of Odisha are Maoist prone.

In a written reply to a question by Congress member Kailash Kulesika, the chief minister said 45 Maoists have been killed and 80 arrested in 55 encounters since 2015 till November this year. Besides, 5 BSF jawans among 7 security personnel have been killed during encounter with the Maoists during the period, he added.

The chief minister also said during the period, 94 Maoists have surrendered of which 44 have been rehabilitated under surrender rehabilitation policy.
