17 police officers receive police medal for gallantry from Odisha Guv

Bhubaneswar: Rabindra Kumar Mohapatra, additional SP, Special Branch received the President's police medal for distinguished service from Odisha Governor SC Jamir on the occasion of Republic Day on Friday.

Apart from Mohapatra, 16 other police personnel were also bestowed with police medals for gallantry at Investiture Ceremony held at Jayadev Bhawan today.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also was present on the occasion.

"17 personnel of different ranks have been awarded with gallantry award and 15 officers have been bestowed with Governor's medal which will inspire officers to work with more dedication," said DGP RP Sharma.

Three officers including Inspector Seemarekha Panda, Havildars Bimal Tamag and Arun Panda received Union Home Minister's medal for excellence in police training.

15 police personnel including IPS Yatindra Koyal (DIG, NCR, Talcher), Satyabrat Bhoi (DCP, Bhubaneswar), Sanjeev Arora (SP Sambalpur) were also conferred with Governor's medal.
