16 passengers injured in road mishap

Sonepur: 16 passengers were injured, one of them seriously, when a bus in which they were travelling, overturned near Phulamuthi Chhak on Sonepur-Binika road this afternoon.

Reports said a private bus ‘Karishma’ (OR-15-R-0988) was on the way to Sambalpur from Sonepur when the driver lost control of the vehicle which overturned near Phulamuthi Chhak on Sonepur-Binika road and fell into a paddy field.

Following information, police rushed to the spot and rescued 16 injured passengers. While 15 passengers were admitted to government hospital at Binikia, the seriously injured passenger was shifted to Sonepur District Headquarters Hospital as his condition became critical.
