Bhubaneswar: As many as 145 platoons of Odisha State Armed Police (OSAP) will be deployed during the upcoming Rath Yatra, informed DGP KB Singh today.

Speaking to media persons after a preparatory meeting to review security arrangements during the mega festival, Singh also said that a Special Tactical Unit will be deployed to thwart any terrorist activities.
Furthermore, 10 SPs, 15 additional SPs, 48 DSPs, along with 604 sub-inspectors will be on duty to ensure smooth and secure Rath Yatra. Two companies of CRPF, 1 unit of NDRF, 2 units of ODRAF along with 2 units of SOG will also be deployed, informed Singh.

“We analysed our experience of the past years and accordingly we have decided to improve our arrangements,” said Singh.
