Cuttack: Alleging negligence of doctors, around 12 persons complained of low-vision and irritation in the eyes after undergoing cataract surgery at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
As per sources, 12 patients underwent cataract surgery at the SCB hospital on December 7.
However, when they developed complications and complained the matter to the doctor, he allegedly returned them with advice to get treated at a private hospital, sources said.
Meanwhile, reports claim that five patients out of the seven admitted and undergoing treatment at the private hospital are in a critical condition.
Asked, SCB superintendent Shyama Kanungo assured of a probe and said," I have not received any complaint and information from the department. They could have taken our help and asked anything that was required. It is a very unfortunate incident."
