12-hr Binika bandh for CB probe into a murder case

Sonepur: A dawn-to-dusk bandh is being observed at Binika in the district in demand of Crime Branch probe into the murder Belar Khandayat. Binika Citizen Forum had called for the bandh alleging police inaction in the ghastly murder.

Following the 12-hour long bandh , business establishments, schools, colleges and government offices have remained shut. Adequate police forces have been deployed in the town to avoid any possible eventuality.

On the other hand, family members of the deceased sat on dharna in front of the tehsil office. They alleged that Belar has been murdered and police have taken a casual approach to the crime. Only two have been arrested so far while other are still moving freely, they alleged.

The body of Belar was found at Singhijuba at Gaudapada of Binika on January 21.
