Bolangir: Normal life has been affected in Bolangir and Sonepur districts today due to a 12-hour bandh called by the Kosal State Coordination Committee demanding a separate Kosal State.

Schools, colleges and government offices remain closed due to the bandh. Besides, vehicles have been off the roads in view of the bandh since 6 am today.

Pramod Mishra, chief advisor of the Kosal State Coordination Committee, said, “Normal life in both the districts will be paralysed. We will intensify our agitation to press for the demand.”

Ajay Das, District Chief Coordinator of Aam Aadmi Party, which has lent support to the bandh, said, “Major establishments including government offices will remain shut.”

Kosal or the western part of Odisha includes the Kalahandi, Bolangir and Koraput districts and eight other districts of the area.
