Aska: Normal life was thrown out of gear in various parts of Aska in Ganjam district as lawyers observed a dawn-to-dusk bandh demanding sub-division status to the town.

As part of their protest, the lawyers under the banner of the Lawyers Association and Kriyanusthan Committee staged a road blockade at Badanadi and Rusikulya bridges on national highway-59 by burning tyres. Commuters had  a tough time as vehicular communication came to a standstill due to the blockade.

On the other hand, educational institutions, shops and other business establishments have remained closed.

Meanwhile, police personnel have been deployed in various areas to guard against any untoward incident during the protest.
