Keonjhar: A 12 hour bandh has thrown life out of gear in Joda town with a local group, Joda Development Council calling for the strike with a three-point charter of demands regarding the development of the area here in the district on Thursday.

According to reports, the demands include setting up of a new bus stand at Kamarajoda in Joda daily market area and construction of a bypass route from Ranasala to Bamebari.
The council alleged that though the State and Central governments have been collecting a huge amount of revenue from the iron ore-rich area, developmental works are being neglected here.

“As our demands have fallen on deaf ears we have called for the 12-hour bandh,” said a demonstrator.
