113 Maoist sympathizers surrender in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Support base of Maoists in Odisha continues to wane as another 113 Maoist sympathizers surrendered before the Malkangiri police today.

According to sources, the surrendered sympathizers are from Idikonda village under Kalimela police limits and include 29 militia and 11 village committee members. All the persons were working for the Kalimela Dalam.

“As per the Surrender and Rehabilitation of Left Wing Extremists policy, all necessary arrangements will be made for them. Moreover, another 57 villagers have also come to us and pledged that they would not support the Maoists. We will ensure that the developmental projects in their areas are expedited,” said Malkangiri SP, Mitrabhanu Mohapatra.
