Bhubaneswar: A total of 11 hotels are operating despite closure notices being served to them by the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB), informed Forest and Environment Minister Bijayshree Routray in the State Assembly today.

In a written reply to a query from Opposition party chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati, the minister stated that the pollution control board had served closure notices to 27 hotels in 2017 for allegedly releasing sewerage water without treatment.

He further stated that one hotel has got a stay order from court against OSPCB closure notice.

The district collectors have been asked to take action against the hotels which have violated the directive, the minister stated in his reply.
