1 killed, 6 injured as mini truck hits auto rickshaw

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, one person was killed and six others sustained critical injuries as the auto rickshaw in which they were travelling overturned after being hit by a speeding mini truck near Ekamakana chhak on Nimapada-Pipili road on Friday morning.

The deceased and the injured persons have been identified as residents of Baramunda area here.

According to sources, the incident took place while they were returning from Chandrabhaga to Bhubaneswar after taking a holy dip on the occasion of Magha Saptami today.

A speeding mini truck hit the ill-fated auto causing the death of a person on the spot. After the mishap, the truck fled the spot, sources added.

The injured persons were rushed to Bhubaneswar. Out of the six injured persons, condition of two injured is stated to be critical, sources informed.
