Burla: Police has begun investigation into the death of three members of a family including a woman whose body was recovered from Chipilima Power house channel near Burla in Sambalpur district on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as M Kalyani of Dulampur village under Atabira police station limits.

The body of her two-year-old son was recovered from the power channel on Friday while the body of her seven-year-old daughter had earlier been recovered from the same channel on March 10.

Police came to know the identity of the two children after identifying the body of the woman whose body was sent to VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla for post mortem.

As per the complaint lodged by M Kanta, husband of the deceased, his wife and two children had gone missing since Shiv Ratri on March 7.

Talking to OTV, a man of Dulampur village said the husband of the deceased family members is a potato and onion vendor.

“The family had no enmity with anyone in the village and they were living happily,” he said.

The Burla police said the exact cause of the death will be known after the post mortem.
