Body of missing constable recovered under mysterious circumstances

Cuttack: Body of a constable missing since yesterday was fished out of a pond on premises of the Sixth Battalion in Cuttack this morning.

The deceased, identified as M. Krishna Rao hailed from Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district and was employed as a band constable in the battalion.

As per reports, family members of Rao were unable to trace him after he left home yesterday.

“This morning, some morning walkers spotted a body floating in the pond and informed police. A team of ODRAF fished out the body and identified as that of missing Rao,” an eyewitness said.

Reasons behind the death have not been ascertained yet. The body has been sent for post mortem.
