Bhubaneswar: There seems no end to the war of words between the political parties over the Black Rose sinking incident.
Odisha BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty today pointed fingers at the Crime Branch stating that even though two offices were operating (linked to the Black Rose shipping activities) in the Capital city, they were never touched by the investigative agency.
"There were reports of close links of a former minister and current MLA in the incident but no steps were taken against him," rued Mohanty.
"Involvement of some politicians is suspected in the Black Rose sinking incident. CBI is investigating the incident; let us wait and see what the reality is," said OPCC chief, Niranjan Patnaik.
Senior BJD leader Damodar Rout said that no political leader is immune of law and the law of the land never spares the culprits.
"No one is stopping CBI from arresting any politician involved in the incident," he said.
BJD spokesperson, Pratap Deb lashed out the BJP government and questioned what the Modi government had been doing for the last four years.
"It's a vindictive attempt of the BJP government to suppress the voice of the Opposition. Elections are round the corner and people of Odisha know with what motive the CBI has been roped in," Deb added.
Earlier on Tuesday, chairman of Paradip Port Trust, Rinkesh Ray had said the MV Black Rose vessel had came to the port with forged documents and several agencies and people were involved in the incident.
