Bhubaneswar: A day after the BJP announced free Covid-19 vaccination for all in Bihar as part of its election manifesto; the announcement has heated up politics in Odisha.

Ruling-BJD legislator Arabinda Dhali reacted sharply at BJP's announcement and said it is 'appalling' that a vaccine to fight the pandemic is being made a poll agenda.

Criticizing the saffron party for singling out one State and giving a political twist to Covid19 that has affected all, Dhali expressed his shock that the BJP is thumping its chest with pride as if it already has stock of the vaccine ready for distribution.

"BJP should refrain from making such reckless declarations because it might boomerang. By the way, the poll manifesto does not make any sense as people of Bihar have already made up their minds as to who they will vote to power," said Dhali.

Responding to Dhali, BJP General Secretary, Prithviraj Harichandan said it is a habit of the Opposition to be critical of each and every welfare schemes announced by the ruling party.

"Since Coronavirus vaccine is the hottest topic concerning the entire country, where does the problem lie if the government makes promise for its speedy and free-of-cost delivery," said Harichandan.
