Khurda: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police has detained two suspects in connection with BJP leader Manguli Jena’s murder. Moreover, IG Soumendra Priyadarshi has assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
Earlier today, DGP In-charge of Odisha, BK Sharma had confirmed that Crime Branch will investigate the murder case and DSP Pramod Rath, will handle the case and lead the investigation. IG Arun Bothra will monitor the investigation, he had said.
On Sunday night, Manguli Jena was shot dead by an unidentified miscreant. As per eye witness, Kalu Khandayatra, a bike-borne miscreant fired three rounds of bullets and killed Jena near party’s Nabina Bag office in Khurda town.
It is alleged that Jena's murder is a fallout of political violence and past rivalry. Meanwhile, BJP had also alleged involvement of BJD in the murder case to which BJD had strongly refuted.
