Bhubaneswar: The BJP today slammed Odisha Cooperation Minister Surjya Narayan Patro, who had challenged the Opposition parties to prove the allegations that paddy is being sold at prices below the MSP in mandis. Patro had said that he will quit if the allegations are proven.

Accusing Patro of hoodwinking the residents of Odisha, Odisha BJP Vice-President Samir Mohanty today demanded resignation of the minister alleging mismanagement in different mandis and transfer of money into the accounts of fake farmers.

"Surjya Patro should be dismissed from the Cabinet. He is lying and hoodwinking the people of Odisha. With that loot money he is having fun," Mohanty said.

Responding to the allegations, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra said whatever was promised to farmers has been delivered.

"BJP has not done anything for the farmers so they don't have any right to speak for them," Patra said.
