Kendrapara: Even though the notification for Patkura Assembly election is yet to be published, the think-tanks of major political parties are already brainstorming on strategies to pocket the seat.

A high-level meeting of BJP was organized at party’s office in Kendrapara today and was attended by several prominent leaders and workers from Patkura.

BJP’s candidate for Patkura poll, Bijoy Mohapatra, who was also at the meeting, took a dig at BJD and accused the ruling party of trying to misuse the government machinery to win the battle.

“There will be a fight against the administration which is indulged in irregularities. They (BJD) are planning to buy votes, but Patkura voters are not for sale,” said Mohapatra.

Odisha BJP general secretary, Bhrugu Baxipatra said, “BJD is conspiring to delay the poll. We know that local administration will fight the election on behalf of ruling-BJD, but people will vote for Bijoy Mohapatra,” said Baxipatra.

Responding to BJP, senior BJD leader & Kendrapara MLA Sashi Bhusan Behera said, “BJD led by Naveen Patnaik got a clear mandate and Naveen Patnaik is in his fifth term. On CM’s call, already preparations have begun for the sixth term and nobody needs to be worried for Patkura.”
