Bhubaneswar: Trouble may mount for BJD’s candidate for Bhubaneswar-Central Assembly seat, Anant Narayan Jena as his BJP counterpart Jaga Pradhan today accused the former of holding office of profit.

Pradhan alleged that Jena was officiating as the chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA). As Jena filed his nomination to contest for the upcoming polls without resigning, his nomination should be rejected, Pradhan said.

“Anant Jena has filed a false affidavit and did not mention about the criminal case pending against him,” wrote Pradhan in his complaint filed before the ADM today.

BJP leader Samir Mohanty said, “We are demanding that the candidature of BJD’s candidate should be declared invalid for holding office of profit and filing nomination and for submitting false affidavit.”

Jena on the other hand refuted the allegations and said his resignation was accepted on April 4.
