Jajpur: Post general elections, a faction of BJD workers claimed to be the supporters of Sukinda MLA, has been raising protest at the Danagadi Panchayat Samiti office in Jajpur against the local Block Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

The protestors on Wednesday levelled allegations of corruption and practice of PC culture by Danagadi block chairman Lopamudra Nayak and demanded her resignation from the post.

"Even after completion of a work, bills are not being cleared. If one does not give PC (Percentage Commission), files do not move neither the authority puts signature on the file. The block chairman is involved in practice of PC culture and tender fixing, and so she should resign from the post on moral grounds," stated Danagadi block BJD president, Budan Singh Jamuda.

However, Lopamudra refuted the charges during a press meet and challenged them to prove their allegations. She along with the vice-chairman further alleged that both were misbehaved with and locked up inside the block office by the party workers.

The block chairman said, "They (protestors) are typical goons. They locked me up inside my office and ransacked property apart from abusing me. They are intentionally torturing me just because I left the party. They think by doing this, I will be forced to resign. I know Sukinda MLA is behind this."

Lopamudra has also filed a written complaint with local police demanding an investigation into the matter.
