Ganjam: BJP leader Pradip Patri was allegedly thrashed by BJD workers today during a public hearing meeting chaired by the Collector in Aska of Ganjam district.

The incident took place at Dharakot panchayat samiti office following which Patri suffered injuries.

Patri, who is the president of the Farmers' cell of BJP's Ghumsar organisational district, had gone to attend the meeting along with some other party workers.

According to reports, Patri was reportedly attacked for opposing rampant corruption in construction of toilets in Bahadaguda village.

During the meeting, Patri had also demanded action against contractors and other officers associated with the project, informed sources.

As per reports, the incident took place allegedly in presence of police. However, neither the BJD nor BJP is yet to comment on the matter.
