Ganjam: BJP's candidate from Hinjili Assembly constituency Pitambar Acharya accused ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of being involved in rigging of booths during the recently concluded second phase polls.

Addressing a presser on Friday, Acharya stated that BJD has now turned into 'Pandian Janata Dal'. He also alleged that four false cases were slapped against him while the ruling party is trying to win the seat by hook or crook.

Similarly, a false case has been by filed against BJP Sorada candidate Nilamani Bisoyi for allegedly smashing the EVM in polling booth no-182 at Renti village under Sorada Assembly constituency, said Acharya.

“He (Naveen) is so scared that he is misusing government machinery and trying all tactics to win the election. Besides, four false cases have been registered against me. Instead of filing FIR against BJD goons involved in booth rigging, case was lodged against BJP's Sorada candidate,” Acharya added.

Comments from BJD could not be obtained on the allegations levelled by Acharya. The story will be updated once BJD leaders comment on the matter.
