Bhubaneswar: A day after Odisha bagged the Krishi Karman Commendation Award for total foodgrains production (category II), BJP today dubbed the ruling-Biju Janata Dal (BJD) an expert in winning awards by fudging data.

Addressing a presser, BJP spokesperson Golak Mohapatra alleged, “We fail to understand in which area agri production increased when the government’s potato and onion missions have failed miserably.”

Mohapatra further asserted that the government is in the habit of providing false documents and bagging awards. Such misleading facts and irregularities have been detected in the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report in the past, he added.

Senior Congress leader Santosh Singh Saluja also took a jibe at Odisha government saying that there is nothing great in the achievement.

“BJD has surrendered before the Centre. Not only Odisha, 21 other States have also been awarded,” said Saluja.

Earlier yesterday, Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment Minister, Arun Sahoo received the Commendation Award in agriculture from Prime Minister Modi at Tumkur in Bengaluru.

“Odisha has seen tremendous growth in agricultural production as a lot of steps have been taken by the State government for development of agriculture and farmers,” said Sahoo.
