Bhubaneswar: As per the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast, several parts of Odisha continue to be hit by intense cold wave condition during the last couple of days.

Normal life in Phulbani in Kandhamal district was adversely affected as the minimum temperature (night temperature) dropped to 4.5 degree Celsius, one of the season's lowest on Monday night.

As per the latest weather data, eight other places in the State also recorded minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius. The places include- Bolangir (7.8), Jharsuguda (8.2), Keonjhar (8.2), Bhawanipatna (8.5), Sonepur (9.5), Angul (9.6) and Baripada (9.6).

The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperature of 11.8 and 13 degree Celsius, respectively.

As per the weatherman, the districts and places in Odisha which witnessed cold wave or severe cold wave conditions in the past 24 hours include- Cuttack, Angul, Baripada, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Bhawanipatna, Bolangir and Phulbani.

IMD in a statement said that the night temperature in different parts of Odisha is expected to fall by three-to five degree Celsius till February 5, 2021.
